Refunds for audit engagements

Last updated 12 August 2026. These rules apply to professional audit services described on this site. We do not sell physical goods, subscriptions, or downloadable software, so those models are not covered here.

When a fee can be refunded

A fee, or part of a fee, is refundable only against a written engagement note that names dates and a price. Enquiries and scoping conversations are not charged and therefore have nothing to refund.

Deposits

We may ask for a deposit to hold an on-site week or a block of desk-review days. The deposit amount and when it is due are in the engagement note. A deposit is a part-payment, not a separate product.

Cancellation by you

  • More than ten working days before the first booked audit day: full refund of sums received for that engagement, minus any non-refundable travel already purchased with your written approval.
  • Ten to three working days before: we refund fifty percent of the engagement fee, or we keep the deposit if the deposit is larger than fifty percent and the note said the deposit was at risk in this window.
  • Fewer than three working days before, or after work has started: no refund of the fee for days already reserved. We will still send any work product already prepared.

Rescheduling

One reschedule with at least ten working days’ notice is free, subject to our later availability. A second reschedule, or a move inside ten working days, may be treated as a cancellation of the original dates plus a new booking. Plant shutdowns that slip are common; tell us as soon as the window moves.

No-show

If our auditor arrives at the named site at the agreed time and cannot be admitted, or the named operations contact is absent without a deputy who can authorise the day’s work, that day is billable and is not refunded. We will wait a reasonable period on site and then record the no-show in writing.

Work already started

Desk review, evidence intake, and partial path walks are work. If you end the engagement after they have begun, we invoice for time already spent at the daily rate in the note, and we refund only the unused remainder of a prepaid fee. There is no refund for a written pack that has already been delivered, including a draft sent for factual check.

Travel, passes, and materials

We do not stock goods for sale. If, with your approval, we buy a plant induction slot, a visitor pass, or travel to a site outside the Klang Valley, those outlays are not refundable once purchased. Unused prepaid audit days remain subject to the cancellation windows above.

If we cancel

If we cannot staff the dates and you do not accept a substitute auditor or a new window, you receive a full refund of sums paid for the unperformed engagement. We are not obliged to pay production losses at the plant.

Partial refunds

If the scope shrinks by written agreement (for example a command-path audit reduced to a privilege-mapping pass because a write test cannot be authorised), we recalculate the fee. Any overpayment is refunded. If the scope grows, we issue a variation; we do not take extra payment through this website.

How a refund is paid

Refunds go back by the same method as the original payment where the bank allows it, otherwise by transfer to a Malaysian account you nominate. We aim to instruct the bank within fourteen working days after we agree the amount in writing. Bank charges on the return path are not added by us; your bank may still apply its own.

How to ask

Write to audits@dataendpointgrid.digital or to A 197 Jln Segambut, Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan 51200, Malaysia, with the engagement reference and whether you are cancelling, rescheduling, or disputing a deposit. Telephone +60 3-62586210 if the first audit day is inside three working days and email may be too slow.

Exceptions

Statutory rights under Malaysian law that cannot be waived still apply. These rules do not cover consumer retail, because we do not offer it. They do not cover payment-card chargebacks; those follow your card issuer.
